History of the Group

 

Since its formation in 1957, the Group has been at the forefront of debate and analysis from one of the world’s fastest growing regions. From modest beginnings, we have grown into a modern day international media company, encompassing publishing, events and consultancy.


  • 1957: IC Publications S.A. is founded in Paris
  • 1966: African Development is launched in London as a newsletter
  • 1974: Launch of The Middle East and Medicin Digest
  • 1978: African Development is relaunched as New African and African Business
  • 2007: IC Publications launches Le Magazine de l’Afrique and African Business in French
  • 2007: Launch of IC Events and Communications Consultancy services
  • 2008: Launch of African Banker in English and French
  • 2009: Launch of Femme Africaine and New African Woman
  • 2010: New African celebrates its 500th edition
